Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
Claude Pasted-Block Editor (“the extension”) is a Chrome extension that makes collapsed “PASTED” text blocks on claude.ai editable in place. This policy explains exactly what it does and does not do with your data. The short version: it collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere.
What the extension stores
The extension keeps two things in your browser’s local storage, on your device only:
- The text you just pasted. When you paste a large block into Claude, the extension keeps a copy of that original text locally so it can reopen and edit the block. This data lives only in your browser.
- Your on/off setting. Whether the extension is enabled, so it remembers your preference.
What the extension does not do
- It does not send your text, or any other data, to any server. There is no backend.
- It does not use analytics, telemetry, cookies, or third-party scripts.
- It does not create an account or ask you to sign in.
- It does not track your browsing or activity.
- It does not sell or share any data with anyone — because it collects none.
Permissions
The extension requests the minimum permissions needed to do its one job:
- storage — to keep the pasted text and your on/off setting locally, as described above.
- Host access to https://claude.ai/* — so the content script can detect pasted blocks and write your edited text back into the composer. The extension runs on claude.ai only and is inactive on every other site.
Data retention
Locally stored data stays in your browser until it is overwritten by a newer paste or removed. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension or clearing the site’s storage in your browser.
Children’s privacy
The extension is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
